Although not marked as such, this copy was one of the duplicates kept by Michaud, acquired by us with part of his library from his family in 2007. According to the blurb the book "expounds the most advanced occult teachings, yet in such a fascinating manner as to hold and extend the interest of the novice." The books is divided into 12 'Visions' (Chapters).
'The Golden Star,' subtitled 'A Book for Initiaties' was the most substantial of these.
Around the time of the Second World War Michaud founded the Order of the Hidden Masters, which he led under the pseudonym "M.' He had a number of occult books published under his imprint of the UMA press in the postwar years.
Michaud was involved with A.M.O.R.C., and also became a friend of Aleister Crowley's, seeing him frequently in 1937-1938, and again from time to time during the war years.
